Baserunning Blunders Spell Collapse For The Hub

This past week spelled heartbreak for The Hub, as they dropped their second straight. There was one out in the bottom of the 7th, and The Hub was down by two runs, when Eric Farnham laced a line drive deep to right center. Incredibly, the ball bounced off the top of the fence, and landed back in play. Eric Farnham, a self professed speedster, got thrown out at third trying to stretch his double into a triple.

“That’s gay,” Farnham said under his breath as he trotted back to the dugout. The next batter, Left Center Fielder Mike Staebell followed this baserunning blunder with a line drive to left field, which would have scored the tying run from second base. One quick out later, The Hub found themselves on the losing end of a one run game.

“That’s gay,” Andy Ruden muttered to himself after the game.

Manager Mike Staebell was less than pleased. “That was totally gay. I mean, like, REAAALLLLY gay.”

Farnham was fined $10,000 and was disciplined by team owner Marcus Kjeldsen. The Hub looks to bounce back next week, as they take on yet another lame Barmuda team.

On a related note, The Hub’s beat writer Mike Staebell has been banned from all Barmuda’s bars for unkown reasons.

“At least I won’t have to put up with the odd smell in the entryway of Jokers anymore. Smells like feet.” Staebell quipped when the news broke.

Indeed, let it be known. Joker’s entryway smells like feet.
